What’s in it for me?

Using Enterprise Technology has many benefits. It streamlines complicated workflows, improves productivity, efficiency, reduces human error and boosts the revenue of an organisation.

While Technology provides solutions to the biggest problems in the IT world, its dependency comes with its own set of problems. The cyber-attacks or unplanned application downtime can lead to huge productivity loss, interrupt processes, impact reputation as well as big financial losses. Hence, analysing the risk (identify, assess and prioritise risk) before you start with the implementation process is significant. You must take preventive measures else it will lead to chaos.

Few things as a start-up you can do is to calculate the real expenses of downtime, get a risk audit done, adopt a proactive thinking method, have proper documentation. If the company budget allows, you may want to hire an in-house programmer and if not then the entire support will be required from the software provider. Hence, find the right provider who can support with scheduled routine maintenance, backup services and expert support if you ever do experience a malfunction.

We use technology to simplify things but if it isn’t going to make life simpler than it is of no use. Hence, keeping a check in the initial stage is of paramount importance. The best solution is to invest time and money into the development and implementation. The preliminary time spent on implementation of high-quality software with proper staff training, proper IT support and getting clarity of the tool shall work wonders and mitigate the risk of failure.
